I'm just about to replace my TV and would like to run HDMI to the TV but would also like to run digital audio to my home theater receiver. I'm afraid that the VIP 1216 will turn off the optical digital port if I plug in HDMI to it... Have you run HDMI for video and optical for sound out of the VIP 1216? Thanks very much! I have a 1242 Wireless AP and asa 5505. What did you do to get the ASA to work with Uverse? I only need Uverse for internet. No cable or phone (I have Vonage).
